About the Author

Ticiani Meneses de Araujo was born in Araraquara, São Paulo (Brazil), in 1986. Like most authors and lovers of fiction, she was immersed in that universe from early on, inspired by her mother who always had a book at hand. Even before learning how to read, she loved creating her own version of a story just by looking at the illustrations of a book. She wrote her first story at the age of 10, always starting a new one as the ideas kept flowing. And while developing some of these ideas, in the meantime, there are still more than 10 stories left from those creative teenage years waiting to be completed.

With a Bachelor in Foreign Languages and Portuguese from UNESP, top 10 best Universities of Brazil, Ticiani worked as an intern in three academic journals¹, offering also volunteering Portuguese Proofreading activities. In her concentration of Semiotics Analysis of the Discourse, she studied² the case of the novel The Past, by Alan Pauls, as a material of adaptation used by movie director Hector Babenco to compose the movie of the same name. For this thesis, she took Screenplay I classes as an audit student at Ufscar. In 2013, Ticiani enrolled in three classes at NYU: Screenwriting II, Screenwriting III and Film Analysis.

Nowadays, Ticiani lives in NYC with her husband and works as a Portuguese Proofreader, recently finished a proofreading of short stories by P. H. Lovecraft for Martin Claret³, a Brazilian publishing house, and is finishing a movie script and a children’s novel.
